Orthodontic Treatments For Kids
Growing and maturing teeth require the best possible service from the most experienced Orthodontic experts. Orthoworx specialises in braces for kids and kids’ plates, giving your child the best possible opportunity to enjoy a straighter, smarter smile.
Brighter teeth development
The optimal age for teeth development is while the teeth develop and change, between 8-13 years of age. But kids’ braces can be given to any good candidate, so it is essential to visit a highly qualified Orthodontist to discover how your child can best be treated.
Early detection is best
For the best results, the development of your child’s craniofacial structures should be treated during their early stages of growth. This is the most efficient way for our team of orthodontists to rectify dental issues. When it comes to your choice of your child’s orthodontics, we can improve development by ensuring the proper jaw size, tooth position, airway and jaw relationship.
At Orthoworx, we offer a range of traditional and modern braces, removable plates, clear aligners and more.
The difference between child orthodontics & adult orthodontics
While modern orthodontic treatments are available for both children, teens and adults, there are differences between the two due to varying requirements at different development stages.
The biggest contributor between child and adult treatments is that adults will have a fully developed set of teeth and jaws. Younger teens and children do not. This means that realigning the jaw and teeth will be easier for younger patients as tissue and bone isn’t properly set. This alignment process becomes more difficult as you age.
Child orthodontics are typically less extensive due to the lack of dental history in children, whereas adults are more likely to have had previous dental procedures, or even more complicated orthodontic treatments.
Despite the difference, both treatments have the benefits, including optimal oral health and hygiene, increased confidence and a beautifully straight smile that you can be proud of.
What kids braces do Orthoworx offer?
The orthodontic field has advanced considerably through the years. As a result, your children can reap the visible and long-term benefits of innovative orthodontic treatment today. At Orthoworx, we have the following treatments available to you and your child:
Metal braces including traditional & lingual
The most common child braces available, traditional braces involve individual metal brackets that are attached to each tooth. Each bracket is connected by a thin wire which manipulates the teeth to move slowly into the correct position. The wire is kept in place with tiny elastics known as ligatures, which can come in a variety of bright colours!
For a more discreet option, lingual braces act in the same way as traditional, however each bracket is custom made and cemented to the back of the teeth, along with the wire. As a result, lingual braces are completely invisible to the eye.
Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces work similarly to metal braces. However, the brackets themselves are made from a clear, transparent ceramic material that blends more naturally with your child’s teeth. As a result, they are far less noticeable than traditional braces. While ceramic braces are more expensive and can stain when not taken care of properly, they are a great choice for teens who are shy about their appearance.
Invisalign
Growing in popularity is the Invisalign clear aligners. With treatment taking anywhere from a few months to a few years, your orthodontist takes impressions of your teeth then develops a plan that corrects overcrowding, spacing or teeth misalignment issues over a period of time. Every two weeks, your child receives new, clear plastic mouth pieces that they wear on their teeth. Each one slowly shifts the teeth towards a straighter smile. These removable plates make dental care and eating a much easier process for teens.
Any colour any size
Every set of teeth is different, requiring a different, personalized approach. Orthoworx can administer child plates and children’s braces for kids of all ages, including Invisalign, lingual or the colourful and child-friendly traditional varieties. Whatever treatment we recommend you can be sure that our experienced Orthodontists will only recommend the best possible treatment to treat your concern with maximum efficiency and minimal inconvenience to you and your child.

The overall costs of your kids’ braces depends on the complexity of their treatment and the initial consultation. On average, a treatment plan for traditional metal braces in Australia will vary between $5,000 – $9,000 . Costs of child braces cover x-ray evaluations of your child’s teeth, a bite assessment, dental impressions to discover the most effective course of treatment, and regular checkups once they’re on. Additional treatment like palatal expanders and other devices to correct your child’s bite can factor into costs.

Please let me know if this is correct to their services
Orthodontics is dependent on your child and the complexity of their bite issue. While there is no set age, we advise that they receive braces between the ages of 10 and 14 when the head, jaw and mouth are growing and are more adaptive to corrective treatment.
This doesn’t mean that people “must” get braces within this small time-frame. More and more adults are receiving corrective orthodontic treatments now.
At Orthoworx, every child deserves an award-winning smile. Our dedicated team is determined to provide highly effective child orthodontic treatments to do just that. No matter how complex your child’s dental situation, we will work with you to find the best treatment plan possible for outstanding and long-lasting results!
