About Invisalign™

Your Invisalign treatment consists of a series of aligners that you switch out every two weeks. Each aligner is individually manufactured with the state-of-the-art technology that makes exact calculations to gradually shift your teeth into place.
You know you’ll end up with a smile that truly fits since your Invisalign system is custom-made for your teeth and your teeth only with a plan devised by you and Dr Chan. If you’re ready for a smile that transforms your appearance, Invisalign is your answer. Although there may be some limitations with the Invisalign system in treating more complicated cases, Invisalign can treat up to 80-90% of most cases. Let us see if you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign.
Benefits & Advantages

If you want to straighten your teeth without the ‘metal mouth’ appearance of traditional braces then Invisalign is the treatment choice for you. You can undergo treatment without most people even noticing as Invisalign is virtually invisible. The Invisalign system advantages are
- Aesthetics: most people don’t notice you are having treatment and the aligners can be removed for important social functions.
- Hygiene: aligners are removed to allow normal tooth brushing and flossing.
- Comfort: there are no wires and bracket to irritate your mouth and the aligners are removed for eating and drinking.
Invisalign is the best way to transform your smile without interfering with your day-to-day life. Check out the benefits as shown to the right.

Precise Movement
At your consultation, your dentition is examined by Dr Chan and treatment goals and expectations are discussed. He will assess if you are suited for Invisalign treatment.
Each set of aligners are to be worn at least 20 hours per day for a two-week period. You are usually issued 3 or 4 sets per appointment allowing your malaligned teeth to move gradually and evolve into that smile you’ve always wanted.
Invisalign create a 3 dimensional computerized model of your teeth and simulate the movements necessary for improved alignment. This is called a Clincheck. It is a very powerful tool that not only visualizes your treatment objectives, but also gives us a better estimation on how long your treatment takes.
Dr Chan analyses the Clincheck and works closely with the Invisalign technicians to fine tune the perfect smile for you.

FAQ
Invisalign is a brand of clear aligners, and an effective, less invasive orthodontic solution to correct your teeth’ alignment. These aligners are sometimes known as invisible braces due to their transparent colour and their custom-fit to snugly fit your teeth dimensions.
Invisalign costs in Sydney vary from orthodontist to orthodontist and depend on the complexity of your teeth alignment and proposed treatment plan. You will also need to consider the initial consultation fees. Speak to one of our trained Invisalign specialists to get a more accurate estimation of your overall treatment costs and determine if Invisalign is the most appropriate treatment for you.
The Invisalign treatment involves a series of numbered trays developed from an accurate mould of your top and bottom jaw. Over a set period of weeks, each tray of your Invisalign treatment will adjust the teeth position progressively. This adjustment process is mapped out by your orthodontist during the initial consultation stage before treatment and is specific to your teeth alignment requirements. Each tray is fit snugly on the teeth, causing them to gradually shift from their current position and straightening them over time. Each tray is worn approximately two weeks before using the next set of trays prescribed by your orthodontist.
Treatment plans offered by Orthoworx orthodontists will vary depending on the complexity of your teeth alignment requirements. On average, treatment lasts between 12 – 18 months although you can start to see results in a matter of weeks.
For the majority, mild discomfort will be experienced when the first Invisalign trays are fitted and when you change the aligner trays every two weeks. Teeth discomfort is minor as the trays use gentle force to move your teeth in the correct position. Pain often subsides within a few days.
There are different methods to clean and maintain your clear aligners. The most effective way is to brush them out carefully as you would your own teeth, using a soft bristle brush. We suggest cleaning your Invisalign aligners twice before insertion in the morning and each night before going to bed. Use a small amount of toothpaste. Do not soak your Invisalign in mouthwash as this can damage the surface of your aligner.
